Where to Find Some Great Christmas Light Displays in Oakville
If you want to take a driving tour or neighbourhood stroll by some great Christmas light displays here in Oakville, we’ve got some beauties you’ll want to visit! Here are some houses that put Clark Griswald’s decorating skills to shame!
2266 Munns Avenue
This annual Christmas display at the corner of Munns Avenue and Sixth Line in River Oaks has been filling passersby with Christmas spirit for years! The current display has a Grinch Who Stole Christmas theme, and is a definitely must-see! It features a working train, movie projection screen (with sound), Santa’s workshop and loads of Christmassy details that will surely put you in a festive mood! There’s also a donation dropbox for the Kerr Street Mission, to help spread the joy to others.
306 Leacock Avenue
If a light show is what you’re after, you’re in luck! Head over to 306 Leacock Avenue and tune your radio to 92.3 FM to watch the lights dance to the music! They’re also accepting donations to CAMH, which you can give to through this link: https://bit.ly/2Wid2wo
113 McCraney Street West
The Jackson Family features over 50,000 LED lights and plenty of festive holiday décor, and they run nightly light shows until January 7th. Feel like making a donation to one of the charities they support? Visit their website, www.jacksonlights.ca
Fairway Hills
If you’ll be taking a light-viewing drive on Christmas Eve, be sure to visit the Fairway Hills community in Glen Abbey, accessible off Dorval Drive south of Upper Middle Road. The 30th annual “Christmas Eve Luminaries” light show will have over 1000 candle-lit luminaries lining the streets, along with their “Santa’s Runway” light show. Donations will be accepted for The Salvation Army in Oakville.
Downtown Oakville’s Towne Square
Downtown Oakville’s Towne Square boasts a gorgeous tree of lights this year, and Lakeshore Road is lined with matching lights, and you’ll also find some great photo ops in Centennial Square (if front of the Oakville Centre of Performing Arts at Lakeshore and Navy St), which has another gorgeous tree, a 3D illuminated ornament and an archway of lights – all perfect for an evening stroll while you sip something warm from one of the many nearby shops!
Coronation Park
Coronation Park offers a drive through tour of the park, which is lit up with loads of festive and colourful lights – a magical site to behold for the whole family!
